Tedious!

Better had it been a short story or the first part of "Children of Dune". I first read the chronicles decades ago and forgotten that I did not like this book even though I loved Dune so much I went on to read the 'House' trilogy by his son which was fantastic and just read it (them) a second time. I seriously could not wait to get to the end knowing I had to finish it for the background to "Children of Dune". Having read the chronicles so long ago it was almost like reading them for the first time, 'almost'.

Dune Massiah and the Dune Saga

It didn't unfold as I would have liked, but never the less I enjoyed this saga. I have read DUNE and
THE CHILDREN OF DUNE, and I will soon be going on to the rest of the saga. At least the Frank Herbert works. I recommend reading theses books and try to not give up on the early parts of the gist book. One thing I found hard to get used to are the "chapter headings". I wonder if this was a deliberate device of Mr Herbert?

Great sequal to the first book

Great sequal to the first book. I feel tempted to pick up the third. Also quite satisfied with the closure provided for all characters, no need to read on. If you want to know what happens with paul as leader, well here it is. Its the story of what power has done to paul and his family. Paul stays true to character, but must face daunting choices (or not, prescience chooses for him hehe). Read it!
